Each office is lead by the Chair of Volunteers (COV), who oversees all volunteers at that location. Office support volunteers alimony things running smoothly. Together, these roles help volunteers perform the important services that directly influence the lives of Navy and Marine Corps service members.  Profile of an office support volunteer Serving in an office is an easy way to develop and use professional skills. Some volunteers maintain databases and records, and others plan volunteer recognition events and manage volunteer hours. Training and mentoring volunteers is a unconfined role for anyone who likes working with people. Some support volunteers are prescribed special projects that use their unique skills.  Provide leadership for volunteers Our Chair of Volunteers is responsible for all aspects of volunteering at a field office. This includes recruiting, interviewing, and placing volunteers in the right positions, as well as supervising and mentoring the volunteers. COVs have leadership and wardship skills and often have previous professional management or leadership experience. The term of service for a COV is one to three years. Other volunteer leadership positions include Casework Lead, Client Services Assistant Lead, Thrift Shop Lead, and Budget for Baby Program Lead. What volunteers can expect Volunteers in office roles must be flexible. People in this zone tend to like the opportunity to support other volunteers and staff rather than interact directly with clients. Some work can be washed-up remotely, such as database management, so you may not need to live near a base. Because of the flexibility and opportunities in these roles, you should expect to work with the Chair of Volunteers to help determine the right opportunity for you.   Use These Skills Skills used by leadership and office support volunteers include: IT or database managementWardshipManagement Information management Volunteer With Us Apply Here Find an NMCRS Office Stay Informed Get Assistance Call or Visit an NMCRS Office Today After an Appointment What We Offer Financial Assistance and Counseling Quick Assist Loan (QAL) Education Assistance Health Education and Post-Combat Support Budget for Baby Emergency Travel Disaster Relief Thrift Shops Locations About Us Our History Our Mission Board of Directors Financial Overview Legacy Newsletters Work for the Society Contact Us Get Involved About Volunteering Assist Clients Teach Workshops Lead and Support Volunteers Tell Our Story Serve in a Thrift Shop Donate Donate Online Other Ways to Donate Manage Payment Information Endorsed by © 2000–2018 Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society | Privacy Policy Follow @NMCRS1
